Notes:
Foil 15 of 26 On the one hand, the data of a corpus need to be modelled logically, as incated in slide 8. On the other hand, the logical model has to be projected on a computer-scientific model. These objectives and needs represent the selective criteria for the computer-scientific data structure. The logical data model is to a large degree independent of the characteristics and capacities of the hardware - it is anchored in linguistic criteria. By contrast, the computer-scientific model depends on the condition of hardware. A new approach which makes adequate use of the high capacity of new processors and the expansion of memory is presented in: Witten, Jan. H. / Moffat, Alistair / Bell, Timothy C.: Managing Gigabytes. Notizen:
Kriterien.
